Customer Guidelines for Processing
May 17, 2010

We want to thank all our customers for their patronage to Blue Ridge Meats however to better serve our clients the following guidelines will be put in place.

To keep our prices low and stay profitable, we must keep the flow of our plant optimal.

  1. We will allow a client to occupy up to ½ of our cooler space.
  2. We will process the number of carcasses that is committed to be removed on a per week basis.
  3. We will allow a client to occupy up to ½ of our freezer space.
  4. At any time if the flow of our production is slowed or stopped because of customer inventory Blue Ridge Meats has the right to impose strict storage fees or removal of product without notice to customer.
  5. If customer product is not picked up within 30 days Blue Ridge Meats has the right to cease and take control of product and will donate or sell to cover incurred cost; unless there is a specific written agreement in place that allows for another specified number of days.
  6. Your cut-sheet (where you define how we have to process your animal) has to be completely filled in and handed over to us before we kill the animal.
  7. We ask a ‘kill slot reservation fee’ upfront of  $100.00 so that the amount of disruptive changes on our schedule is minimized. You can help us to stay in business by keeping our cash flow positive.
  8. Customer will pay for all processing (minus the ‘kill slot reservation fee’) at the completion of their order before product is removed unless prior arrangements have been made.
  9. Customers not paying for product when picked up are subject to interest on unpaid bills.
  10. All extra work will be charged to customers’ bill, as a example: boxed order, consolidation of orders, re stacking of frozen orders, excessive phone planning with clients, etc. Current rates of these additional services can be found on our Prices page.

As we continue to grow we find challenges along the way. These are a few guidelines to help us better serve you, we are here to help you in every way we can, however this plant runs on a flow design that will allow us to process to our full potential only if you do your part as well.  We also reserve the right to change the guidelines or the charges we impose for noncompliance. Thank you for your business and we look forward to serving you for years to come.

Thank You,
Doug Aylestock, Blue Ridge Meats
